Modular Test System for Cell Monitoring Boards
The CGS CMB Tester is a fully integrated test platform designed for EOL and endurance testing of Cell Monitoring Boards (CMB), Cell Monitoring Cards (CMC), and other Battery Management Electronics (BMS).
The system combines high-precision battery simulation, cell voltage and temperature simulation, ISO SPI communication, and integrated HiPot testing in a modular, production-ready solution. This enables reliable verification of functionality, communication integrity, and electrical safety for modern battery electronic assemblies.
Thanks to its modular architecture, the CMB Tester can be easily adapted to different CMB layouts, cell counts, ASIC configurations, and customer-specific test requirements. The platform is ideally suited for automated production lines as well as validation and lifetime testing applications.
To ensure maximum protection of the device under test (DUT), the system features integrated short-circuit, reverse polarity, overvoltage, overcurrent, and overtemperature protection.
Main Components
- CGS Cell Emulator for precise cell voltage, current, and temperature simulation (4-quadrant SMU, ±8 V / 2 A)
- ISO SPI Communication Controller with multiple communication interfaces (additional communication protocols available upon request)
- HiPot Tester for electrical safety and insulation testing
- CGS HiPot Switch for safe high-voltage test path switching
- Disconnecting Unit for mechanical isolation of the device under test
- Test PC with software environment based on NI LabVIEW, NI TestStand, and Python
- Product-specific fixture for optimal DUT connection and reliable electrical contact
